A little background on the Egypt-Orion Connection.

Pyramids

UPUAUT (third version of 1993) is the name of the small, remote-controlled robot, with which the German engineer Rudolf Gantenbrink inspected in 1993 on behalf of the German Archaeological Institute (DAI) in Cairo - namely to provide for an improvement of the ventilation in the Cheops pyramid - the so-called ventilation shafts of this very pyramid. After approx. 65 m in the "ventilation shaft" (south shaft of the king's chamber) a small trap door blocks the way for the robot.

The shafts in the Great Pyramid (Cheops Pyramid) are aligned with certain stars (reference: for the time around 2500 BC):

The north shaft points to the then polar star Alpha Draconis" (constellation Dragon); the south shaft to Zeta Orionis (the left of the three belt stars of the constellation Orion). Orion (aeg. Sah) is equated with Osiris.

The north shaft is aligned to Beta Ursae minoris (the head of the constellation Little Bear = Ursa minor); the south shaft to Sirius, the Dog Star. The star goddess Sopdet (Aegean Sepedet, Greek Sothis) is the personification of Sirius, which corresponds to Isis.

So there are certain connections between the pyramids and the star-religion (and not only the sun-religion) of the ancient Egyptians, as can be seen from the pyramid-texts (e.g. in the Unas-pyramid)!


Because of disagreements and differences between Gantenbrink and the director of the DAI (Dr. Stadelmann) as well as the chief Egyptologist of Egypt (Dr. Hawass) the latter forbids further explorations in the Cheops pyramid on the part of Gantenbrink with Upuaut (opener of the ways). Thus ends at first the Upuaut project


On Sept. 17, 2002, Dr. Hawass, in association with the American National Geographic Society, finally starts another attempt by sending the robot Pyramid Rover 2 up the south shaft of the King's Chamber to the trapdoor 65 m away (the obstacle of Gantenbrink's robot Upuaut 2 nine years ago); after drilling a hole in the trapdoor it is found that - at a distance of 18 to 20 cm - another trapdoor blocks the way!

In the same week the north shaft of the King's Chamber is also investigated with the robot Pyramid Rover with the result that also this shaft (which one thought so far for a short passage) is blocked after 65 m likewise by a trap door!


Robert Bauval has determined - on the basis of astronomical back-calculation (by means of a computer program) and on the basis of the measurements of Rudolf Gantenbrink in the shafts of the Cheops pyramid - that the arrangement of the 3 pyramids of Giza imitates the position of the 3 belt stars of the constellation Orion around the year 10.500 B.C. (!).

Curiously, on none of the three pyramids of Giza are found carved name cartouches of the three pharaohs supposedly in question, Cheops, Chephren and Mykerinos! Usually on each temple, each statue, each other building, yes even on Uschebtis, vases, pieces of jewelry and many other objects the name cartouche of the reigning pharaoh is found; with the pyramids he should have omitted to perpetuate his fame for all time? Hardly imaginable! The same applies to the Great Sphinx of Giza. From this, actually, only the conclusion can be drawn that these buildings are much older than they are granted. In any case, there is no written proof (chiseled somewhere) about the authorship. The stonemason's signs (with Cheops' name) smeared in red color in the relief chamber seem to be a forgery. That would be also a poor indication of Cheops' authorship! Maybe the red color should be subjected to a chemical analysis?


The quality of pyramid building by the kings of the 5th and 6th dynasties has greatly diminished and cannot be compared to the quality and accuracy of the three famous pyramids attributed to the 4th dynasty. The step pyramid of Djoser (3rd dynasty) stands out because it is not a true pyramid. The construction method of the pyramids of the 5th + 6th dynasty is described as defective and sloppy; today only huge mounds of rubble are left of these structures. The sophisticated pyramid building technique of the 4th dynasty cannot have fallen into oblivion within a few generations (which again raises the question of the authorship of the 4th dynasty)! The Egyptology is in explanation trouble, but has of course enough (hypothetical) reasons at hand (decline of the state power; collapse of the AR; social unrest and the like more).



The 4 sides of the Great Pyramid (Cheops pyramid) have an indentation along the central perpendicular, as the British surveyor and excavator Flinders Petrie (1853-1942) determined on the basis of his precise measurements (beginning of the 20th century). The indentations are not visible or perceptible to the naked eye.



There is a dispute whether the weathering marks on the Sphinx were caused by wind and sand (Egyptologists) or by the action of water (J.A. West, scientists).

According to Prof. Robert Schoch (geologist) it is a water erosion caused by precipitation (not by floods!); thus West's thesis is supported.

On the basis of the geological findings one is of the opinion that the Sphinx was built approx. 10.500 B.C. (in the age of the lion) (probably at the same time with the 3 famous pyramids, which are supposed to have been built around 2500 B.C.)! Of course, this view is not shared by the (orthodox) Egyptologists.

R. Bauval could prove that the Sphinx is the earthly counterpart of the constellation of Leo.

The geophysicist Dr. T. L. Dobecki detected cavities in the rock of the Sphinx (front paws, sides and below the Sphinx) by means of seismographic tests.

According to a tradition, according to which the monuments of Giza remind of an early historical civilization, there should be a hall of documents under the Sphinx or inside the Cheops pyramid with writings, deeds and documents of that civilization which perished or was destroyed by a Flood. In due time this hall (chamber) is to be found by truth seekers.

Edgar Cayce (1877-1946), the sleeping prophet, in his readings held in trance, spoke about the fact that towards the end of the 20th century a secret chamber with writings would be discovered in the Great Pyramid. He also mentioned that the Sphinx was said to have been built about 10,450 B.C. by survivors from Atlantis (in the Age of Leo).

Thutmosis IV. (18th Dyn.) calls the Sphinx and the Sacred Precinct of Giza the "magnificent site of the First Era

On the basis of the available Egyptian sources it appears that the Egyptians remember three different ages:

In the 1st Age (First Age, äg. Sep-Tepi) the gods (Netjeru) rule the land of Egypt (e.g. kingship of Horus, the son of Isis and Osiris).

The 2nd age is under the rule of the Horus servants (Schemsu Hor) - until the legendary Pharaoh Menes (Narmer ?), the unifier of the two countries OÄ and UÄ. The so-called Horus servants are apparently a kind of brotherhood or secret academy, which transmits knowledge, science and divine wisdom. The Egyptian civilization is apparently a legacy on the part of the Shemsu Hor, leading to the installation of the Empire of the Pharaohs.

The 3rd Age is dynastic Egypt, that is, the Pharaonic Empire.

The First Age (Sep-Tepi) is the time of the gods rule over Egypt (1st Age); among others Thot = Hermes Trismegistos (cosmic counterpart: moon), Isis (Sirius = dog star), Osiris (constellation Orion). This time is considered by dynastic Egypt as the Golden Age.

The name Shemsu Hor (servant of Horus) actually means successor of Horus (2nd age). According to Egyptian tradition, Heliopolis (Egypt. Junu) is said to have been founded by the Horus Servants, well before the dynastic period!



The famous word everything flows (panta rhei; in the sense of: everything is subject to a constant change) is attributed to the Greek philosopher Heraclitus (Herakleitos) from Ephesus (ca. 540 - 480 B.C.); the Roman poet Ovid (43 B.C. - 17/18 A.D.) translated it into Latin as cuncta fluunt. Everything changes: the same is true for the Egyptian chronology, which had to be modified several times. New findings bring new results. Therefore an interdisciplinary cooperation on the part of the Egyptologists with geologists, geophysicists, climatologists and above all with astronomers (keyword: precession!) would be probably of considerable use for the (orthodox) Egyptology!

The earth makes - apart from the revolution around itself (self-rotation) and the revolution around the sun - still a third movement, namely a wobbling movement (called precession); i.e. the earth axis extended from the two poles describes in a period of scarcely 26,000 (exactly: 25,920) years a cone mantle, whereby an apparent movement of the stars is observed from the earth.

The sun needs 2160 years to pass through one twelfth of the zodiac; therefore it needs 25.920 (2160 x 12) years for the whole zodiac. That is the duration of a precession cycle. The direction of this movement of the sun in the great year (25,920 solar years) is Leo - Cancer - Gemini - Taurus - Aries - Pisces etc., thus exactly the reverse path which the sun takes in the course of a solar year (for more details on this and on precession see below under Literature).

The age of Cancer begins about 8800, of Gemini about 6640, of Taurus about 4480, of Aries about 2320, of Pisces about 160 BC; today (at the beginning of the 21st century) we enter the age of Aquarius. The beginning of the Age of Leo is ca. 10.960, in which most probably the Sphinx arises (see above under Sphinx). The (orthodox) Egyptologists are of the opinion that the three famous pyramids and the Sphinx were built about the same time (about 2500 B.C.) (see above under Pyramids); therefore, they see in the face of the Sphinx that of Khafre. When comparing the two faces this view is difficult to understand; the face of the Sphinx seems to look rather feminine. By the way, at the beginning of the 11th century the age of the virgin comes to an end!

Something more amusing to this topic:<br>Dr. Stadelmann, who is considered in Egyptological circles as particularly conservative (orthodox) and no longer holds the function of the director of the German Archaeological Institute (DAI) in Cairo, represents now the opinion that Chephren could not be the builder of the Sphinx of Giza. Comment on Dr. Stadelmann's behavior: This is fatally reminiscent of several German politicians and other careerists who, after they no longer hold an official position, suddenly bring completely different - namely very reasonable! - ideas, which would certainly not have been conducive to their career as functionaries! Thus politics and sciences are corrupted!
